Ceylon tea with fellow South African author Dorothy Ewels

Today I’m having Ceylon tea with fellow South Africa author,  the lovely Dorothy Ewels and we’re talking about her debut romance, Love at last (absolutely love the title!)

Before we find out more about her debut release, let’s find out more about the lady herself.

Questions for Dorothy:

A. Quickies

  1. Tea or wine? (what brand/type/cultivar)

Tea – Ceylon or flavoured tea

  1. Read or jog?

Absolutely read! My go-to since I was a little girl.

  1. Cats or dogs?

Both.

  1. Heels or flats?

Flats.

  1. Boxers or briefs?

Boxer briefs – very sexy. 🙂 (of course)

  1. Milk, dark or white chocolate

Milk chocolate.

  1. Sweet or savoury

Depends on my mood. Some days, like when the words won’t come, I desperately need chocolate.

  1. Sea or mountains

Sea – I have been blessed to live near the see my whole life. It’s home.

B. Five likes and five dislikes

    Likes:

  • Reading on a rainy day
  • Holidays on the ocean
  • Kitty snuggles and doggie loves
  • When writing days go according to plan
  • A man in uniform

  Dislikes

  • Bullying, cruelty and abuse
  • Driving in the rain
  • Inconsiderate people
  • Crowds – it overwhelms me
  • Snakes – am paralytically afraid of them

C. Three things on your bucket list

  • Fly in a hot air balloon
  • Visit the Taj Mahal
  • See the Aurora Boreali

D. What triggered this specific story?

I used to work as a criminal court transcriptionist and a particular case I worked on sparked the idea. The story doesn’t follow the case but that’s what led to the idea for the first chapter.

Blurb:

When Willow’s lifelong best friend is murdered, she’s left devastated. She knows she needs to pull herself together for the two little girls who are now put under her guardianship. The last thing that should be on her mind is the attraction to investigating officer Adam Dawson.

From the moment Adam glances Willow’s way, he finds himself drawn to her, but she’s off limits. He needs to be professional while investigating her best friend’s murder.

The murderer has no intention of stopping, throwing Willow and Adam into a maelstrom of danger and deceit. Events unfold testing not only Willow, but also Adam’s strength of character, as well as their blossoming love.

Will Willow be another victim? Or can Adam save not only the girl, but their relationship as well?
