Excerpt from Plan B (IndieWrites)
His gaze had landed on her probably for only one second, but he could vividly recall every sexy detail. She was wearing a ridiculously short, red dress. One that left most of her gorgeous legs bare.
The man whose mouth had been moving for the last few seconds, stopped and waited expectedly. He had no idea what the man had asked.
His assistant, who was sitting next to him, began talking. “Yes, unfortunately, although Gough is very isolated, the seabird colonies are under substantial threat due to the impact of longline fishing, which causes mass mortality through drowning of birds caught on the hooks …”
Relieved, Cody looked down at his notes while he tried to find his equilibrium. Damn, the woman still had the power to stop his heart, his breath, his thoughts. He was a scientist, he relied on facts, on scientific findings to explain certain phenomena.
But there were no data to examine that would make him understand his body’s reaction to Nina Cooper.
