Tea with the lovely Tule Publishing author, Audrey Wick

Today I’m having tea with fellow Tule author,
the lovely Audrey Wick. Although she prefers coffee, she’s agreed to have tea with me so that we can get to know her better before she tells us more about her new release, Coming home. Don’t you just love the title?

Questions:

A. Quickies

  1. Tea or wine? (what brand/type/cultivar)

Tea! But coffee is my preferred morning beverage.

  1. Read or jog?

Read! But that doesn’t mean I don’t exercise. I love jogging in the hills around my neighborhood—especially after a day of reading.

  1. Cats or dogs?

Cats! My cat’s name is Moby, after the whale in Herman Melville’s Moby Dick.

  1. Heels or flats?

Heels! But only when I can stand them. More often, I’ll just grab flats.

  1. Boxers or briefs?

Depends on the man!

(Good answer :))

  1. Milk, dark or white chocolate

Dark! When it’s not available, I’ll happily eat any other form of chocolate.

  1. Sweet or savoury

Sweet! I have a major sweet tooth.

  1. Sea or mountains

Sea! I love the colors and sounds of the ocean.

B. Five likes and five dislikes

I like conversations, books, traveling, coffee, and Haribo gummy bears.

I dislike traffic, capers, ironing, dull pencil tips, and talking in libraries.

C. Three things on your bucket list

I love exploring new countries, and three I have not yet been but which I hope to visit one day include Finland, South Africa, and Jordan.

D. What triggered this specific story?

Since I teach college, I wanted to write a heroine with that same career. Placing my main character, Mallory, in a moment of crisis in Chapter One allows readers to experience a different side of that job, and I hope it helps them root for her to get the happy ending she deserves.

And here is the gorgeous cover!

Blurb:

College professor Mallory Fredrickl oves her job in a city that feels like home, but after a student attacks her on social media, she loses her peace of mind and confidence. When her college offers a sabbatical, she jumps at the chance to escape to her hometown in Texas.

Entrepreneur Alec O’Donnell specializes in helping people in crisis. He’s built his company and career on packing up lives as people start over. It’s just business until he meets Mallory. Something about the beautiful and fragile woman who still manages to hold on to her sense of humor affects him. As feelings develop, he realizes he’s not ready for her to move out of his life.

Can Mallory find peace, or will a second setback keep her from coming home for good?
