A cup of tea with author P.J. Roscoe

Today I’m having tea with author Paula Roscoe and we’re talking about the long journey she’s had with her paranormal release, Echoes.

But before we talk about her story, let’s get to know her a little better!

 

 

 

A. Quickies

1. Tea or wine? Depends what day of the week it is! Tea during the week, wine at weekend!
2. Read or jog? Read, NEVER, ever jog!
3. Cats or dogs? Oh dear, I have both. Cannot favour one more than the other!
4. Heels or flats? Flats, heels are my nightmare.
5. Boxers or briefs? I guess briefs.
6. Milk, dark or white chocolate? Milk and as much as you want to give me is fine!
7. Sweet or savoury? Sweet. My downfall is home-made cake and meringue!
8. Sea or mountains? Mountains. I live in North Wales and surrounded by Mynydd (Welsh for mountain.) Also, my maiden name was ‘Mountain’ so …!

 B. Five likes and five dislikes:

Likes: Writing (Too obvious!) Dancing, walking in nature, watching films, drinking a fine ale!

Dislikes: Rude, arrogant people, bullying, litter (clogs up nature), barking dogs, meat.

 C. Three things on your bucket list:

See one or all of my books on film or drama television.

Go to Italy with my husband for an adventurous holiday.

Visit my relatives in Japan when I go to do a book signing tour!

D. What triggered this specific story?

‘Echoes’ was first brought to life over eighteen years ago following the death of our son. I was doodling in the kitchen trying to get through the day when I began writing a story, that over the following weeks turned into a book. I left it for many years, but it would be found and worked on and rejected and replaced back in the drawer until 2012. I self-published it and it was awarded an Honourable Mention in the New England book festival 2012. The following year it won the e-book category in Paris and awarded another Honourable Mention in the London book awards 2014. Christine Anderson publishing took it on last year.
