Today I’m having a glass of Pino Grigio with the charming Zara Stoneley from Chesire and we’re talking about her latest release, Country Affairs<\/em>. I’ve never had a glass of Pino Grigio, so I had to find out what to expect – this is what Wikipedia has to say about it:<\/p>\n

Pinot gris is a white wine grape variety of the species Vitis vinifera. Thought to be a mutant clone of the Pinot noir variety, it normally has a grayish-blue fruit, accounting for its name (gris meaning “gray” in French) but the grapes can have a brownish pink to black and even white appearance.<\/p>\n

So I’m obvisouly missing out on a great wine and will have to see what is available in South Africa!<\/p>\n

Before we hear about Zara’s new story, let’s see her answers to my questions:<\/p>\n

A. Quickies<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Tea or wine? Wine! Preferably a nice Pinot Grigio. (Or coffee if it\u2019s too early for alcohol.)<\/li>\n
  2. Read or jog? Read \u2013 I\u2019d love to pretend I\u2019d choose jog. But I wouldn\u2019t.<\/li>\n
  3. Cats or dogs? Both.<\/li>\n
  4. Heels or flats? Heels to go out, flats when I\u2019m scurrying around in the day \u2013 I always seem to end up having to run everywhere!<\/li>\n
  5. Boxers or briefs? Briefs \ud83d\ude09<\/li>\n
  6. Milk, dark or white chocolate \u2013 dark please.<\/li>\n
  7. Sweet or savoury \u2013 it does depend on what\u2019s on offer, if we go out for a meal I\u2019m as likely to go for a starter as a dessert if I have to choose between. But I find it very hard to say no to chocolate.<\/li>\n
  8. Sea or mountains \u2013 tricky one, I really do love both. If I had to choose it would probably be mountains (with a lake!).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    B.\u00a0Five likes and five dislikes<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Likes \u2013<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. A lovely sunny day. Everything seems better when the sun shines!<\/li>\n
    2. Happy people; contented positive people make life worth living. And of course, seeing my family happy is the best bit.<\/li>\n
    3. Animals – they lower your blood pressure and lengthen your life. And horse-riding and dog-walking are an excellent way of exercising. I\u2019ve always loved animals and can\u2019t imagine life without a pet of some kind or other.<\/li>\n
    4. A good book or film, uninterrupted. It\u2019s good to escape to a different place now and again.<\/li>\n
    5. Sitting on the beach with my other half people watching.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Dislikes \u2013<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. People who criticize just for the sake of it, or hold grudges. Life is too short.<\/li>\n
      2. Pineapple \u2013 I love sweet and sour but have to pick the pineapple bits out. It is one of the few fruits I don\u2019t like.<\/li>\n
      3. Getting older \u2013 it\u2019s not the getting older, but the side effects. Like back pain and frozen shoulders, and not being able to party like I used to (well I can party, but not get up the next morning!).<\/li>\n
      4. Swimming \u2013 I love the sea it inspires me, but it doesn\u2019t seem to like me. So I observe from a distance.<\/li>\n
      5. Planting and trimming stuff is my type of gardening, not weeding. Weeds are pests.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        C. Three things on your bucket list<\/strong><\/p>\n

        Ride in the Canadian Rockies.<\/p>\n

        Write a bestseller (is that a bit predictable?)<\/p>\n

        Attend my son\u2019s graduation (he\u2019s due to start University this year).<\/p>\n
