What triggered this specific story?

The Love List is my second book in a trilogy about the King family, although it can be read as a standalone. When I was writing Her Best Laid Plans (the first book) I knew the hero Jared King had two younger sisters called Leonora (Nora) and Seraphina (Sephy). As I was writing about Jared learning how to re-connect with family he hasn’t seen in ten years I knew I had to write about how his leaving had affected Nora and Sephy and the King family business.

I love writing about family dynamics and find characteristics presented by the ‘elder/first’ child, the ‘middle’ child and the ‘baby’ of the family fascinating. For instance, what happens to the ‘peace-maker/middle’ child, and the ‘rebel/baby’ of the family if the ‘eldest/responsible’ child walks away from his birthright at twenty-one? How do their roles change? Who do they become as individuals shaped by their family history?

The Love List is Nora’s story. Nora King is the middle child who took the role of responsible child at nineteen when her brother left and she decided she wanted to be everything her father needed to run the family business.

Now twenty-nine and a workaholic, Nora King definitely doesn’t have falling in love on her To Do List. She doesn’t have time. She’s too busy doing everything in her power to keep her grief contained while keeping the business afloat after the death of their father. Enter sexy, laid-back disaster relief worker Ethan Love!

Blurb: The Love List

Falling in love is just not on Nora King’s To Do List…

Neither is accidentally super-gluing her shoe to her hand right before the biggest presentation of her life! With all the hard work she’d put into securing the family business after her father’s death, Nora has no choice but to accept help from a knight in shining armour.

Disaster relief worker Ethan Love is still haunted by his last deployment, and desperate for distraction. He’s in town to ask Nora for a major favour, and swooping in to save her presentation is a sure way to get her on side.

As Ethan sticks around and helps Nora through her grief, her barriers tumble down…but will she dare to swap her To Do lists for a How to Fall in Love list?

Buy Links:

AMAZON BARNES & NOBLE GOOGLE PLAY iBOOKS KOBO

Social media links:

WEBSITE TWITTER FACEBOOK GOODREADS

Thanks for having tea with me, Eve – I hope this one flies!

Today I’m having breakfast tea with the lovely Eve Devon and she’s talking about her latest book, The Love List – the second of a trilogy about the King family although it can also be read as a standalone.

[6,8,4
11,15
post-347","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-books","category-featuring-other-authors","category-writing","tag-romance","tag-writing-2
["GET
